Therapy is a space for you to be fully yourself. My commitment is to come alongside you with my whole-hearted authentic self.
Together, we can undo aloneness, face what feels hard, and create room for connection, healing, and growth.
My Approach
At our core, we’re wired for connection. Life can beautiful, difficult, and complicated and in each of those circumstances, it is better when we feel connected to someone who actively joins us in those moments. When that connection is disrupted — through loss, shame, or unmet needs — our nervous system adapts to protect us. These adaptations help us survive but can also keep us from feeling fully alive.
Therapy offers a space to slow down and notice what our whole self - beyond just our thoughts - is communicating. Together, we listen for what’s underneath the patterns — the parts of you that have been trying to keep you safe — so that healing can unfold with compassion and understanding.
My approach is relational, experiential, and grounded in the belief that healing happens in connection. I draw from AEDP, EFT for couples, and Existential Analysis, with an emphasis on somatic awareness, inner child work, and embodiment.
Rather than focusing only on what’s “wrong,” we’ll explore what’s trying to emerge — your innate capacity for growth, meaning, and connection. Therapy with me is collaborative, emotionally attuned, and at times, even lighthearted — making space for depth and warmth to coexist. You can read my counselling bio here.
Meet Ajay
Some people like to know who their therapist is outside the office — so, this part’s for you. I share this not just because I love these parts of my life, but because I believe therapy works best when both people bring their real selves into the room. My hope is that knowing a bit of the real me makes it easier for the most tender and honest parts of you to feel safe enough to come forward too.
Little history, I moved to Canada from India when I was 6 and grew up in the Okanagan in BC. I moved to Langley, BC in 2011 and have been living in the area ever since.
The 3 areas of my life would be music, sports, & people.
I usually live in my headphones and am either playing, listening, or thinking about music. I’m a drummer who loves emo and pop-punk music, though lately, I’ve been playing a lot more guitar.
I love ideas and creativity. When something captures my curiosity, I dive in - learning, reflecting, and building. That is one of the reasons I love my work as a therapist, there is an inherent creativity at work between people that is constantly unfolding.
I’m drawn to conversations about what it means to be human — spirituality, purpose, the Enneagram, and the nature of growth. I laugh easily, think deeply, and value both presence and play.
I’m active most days — usually at the gym or playing soccer but I’m happiest when I’m with people I love. If we’re longboarding, surfing, skiing, hiking, or playing music, I’m probably at my best. My “competitive sports” were soccer and badminton.
I find it so soulfully nourishing to be travelling and when I travel, I’m usually in nature than in a museum. I really appreciate good TV that gets me to consider life in a deeper way and I will almost never turn down a comedy special.
The first piece of professional feedback I ever got in grad school was that “Ajay is fun.” I didn’t appreciate it then — I was focused on being insightful and competent — but I’ve since realized that “fun” is actually a part of my core self. It’s the part that connects me to my most grounded, present, and alive self.
I share that because I think we all have a core part of us that wants to be seen and expressed.
My hope is that therapy helps you reconnect (or discover) that part — whatever it is for you — and make space for it to thrive.
